"As
today is our two month anniversary, we found it fitting to send out our thank
you notes on this special day. Ok, so it's actually a little laziness, a little
procrastination and a lot of scheduling conflicts that have made this "thank
you" overdue. Dag has been in Baltimore, I have been in New York, and our
weekends have been spent in one or the other city. She is home now (shooting
went great) and I am into my 3rd week on Little Children, and we are FINALLY
able to settle into our new life together.
On behalf of both of us, THANK YOU for your generosity, your respect for our
privacy, your good wishes, and the recipe book. We got a lot of new cooking wear
and we are anxious to put it to use. We are moving into a new home soon and
can't wait to break in the new kitchen.
I apologize for not writing sooner, but it's been a crazy summer. The wedding
was truly remarkable and we have pictures to prove it. We haven't given out any
pictures and I wanted you guys to be the first to see our special day. There
will be a few in InStyle magazine at some point, we just wanted to wait for
things to settle down. I'm still not used to people caring so much about my
private life, and neither is the wife, but we are so appreciative of our
fans...and I of the Lair!
Here's the career gossip so you can dispel the rumors. I'm not doing The Good
Shepherd because of scheduling conflicts, but a college friend happens to be
taking over the role, which is always nice. I was really looking forward to it,
but it kept getting pushed back, and the role in Little Children was too
incredible to pass on, and I couldn't do both. I will finish Little Children in
mid-October, Hard Candy comes out around December 21st (always subject to
change!) and will be wide released two weeks later...unless, of course, it
doesn't find its audience and will stay at smaller theaters. I'm amazed at the
success of it already, and anything else is icing on the cake. Barefoot in the
Park rehearsals will start after Christmas, and I am so excited to get back on
the stage. So that's that. No word on American Gothic yet (still being edited)
or any other impending projects.
On behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, we thank you for your respect, support and
continuing interest, it means a lot!
Patrick
P.S.(from Dag aka Mrs.Wilson) I just want to thank you all so much - how
incredibly sweet and thoughtful of you guys to put together something like this
for us. And even though I've never been much of a cook (though I've always been
one helluva an eater) I can't wait to start cooking for my new husband...he's
already hinted that he can't wait to taste Des' pumpkin risotto with shrimp or
Daydreamer's lime cream and strawberry icebox pie...and he's got his eye on,
well, the whole entire book, actually - so thanks a lot you guys...I'll never
leave that kitchen....
