According to the Press Release issued by World Health Organization,nearly 17 million people die every year succumbing to infectious diseases. Perday, survey results note the death rate for humans which is as big as 50,000.

As a fact,in the past 20 years, 30 new infectious diseases were discovered. Most millennials today are suffering from one illness or the other, big or small.

Now, there are many reasons why the 20th century is succumbing to diseases. Some of them are –

  • Change in lifestyle and work pressure.
  • Anxiety, stress and poor eating habits.
  • Pollution and consumption of synthetic crops.
  • Consumption of gateway drugs, smoking and alcohol.

So, let’s review the recent deadly global diseases affecting human lives.

  1. Coronary artery diseases

The ischemic heart disease, also known as CAD, occurs when the blood vessel supplying blood to the heart constricts. When left untreated, it can lead to heart attack, arrhythmias and severe chest pain.

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure

Respiratory cancers affect mostly the Lungs, trachea, larynx and bronchus. Symptoms depend on the location of the tumours.

Prevention method:

Not smoking or inhaling toxins can help in preventing respiratory cancers. However, it is vital that those with a genetic history of cancers get checked early. If the disease is diagnosedearly,then lives can be saved.

More than thousands of people are dying due to Cancers. This deadly ailment affects people globally,and the yearly death toll sums up to 4 million. Moreover, in developing countries, research states that the chance of contracting this deadly disease is 81-100%.

  • Diabetic Mellitus

Diabetes affects the body’s insulin production. There are two types noted: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 doesn’t produce any insulin, while type 2 provides very little.

Prevention method:

AIDS is caused by Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This virus enters the body through the exchange of bodily fluids, mainly via sexual intercourse. The virus,upon entering the body, affects T-cells and breaks down immunity.

  • Perinatal transmission

Prevention method:

Practice safe sex, and avoid using used needles. However, till date, no cure has been developed for HIV. Prior to HIV, antiretroviral treatment can nevertheless increase life expectancy.

Global impact

An estimate of 3.1% of global deaths is a result of Aids. Nearly, 5000 people are diagnosed each day, and hence, to prevent it, humanity must tread carefully and take a cautious step.
